COLUMBIA CITY ÂÂâ€” The date for the 50th production of Distinguished Young Woman/Junior Miss program has been set for Saturday, Sept. 6, 7 p.m. in the Newell Rice Auditorium of Columbia City High School.
Admission is $10 per person for adults and $5 for students grades kindergarten through 12.
The late Jon Hildebrand and several Columbia City Jaycees produced the first program at Columbia City High School (CCHS) using the Indiana Junior Miss and Americaâ€™s Junior Miss programs as guides for the establishment of the program.
Ten high school senior girls from Columbia City High School competed and Lynn Tenney was the first winner of the fledgling program.
The first program, as well as all other programs of the local franchise took place on the stage of Columbia City High School.
