Eagles defeated in sectional finals

AUBURN — After a lopsided win over DeKalb Monday afternoon, Columbia City’s baseball team suffered a lopsided loss in Monday night’s sectional final game at DeKalb.

Carroll beat the Eagles 13-2. The Chargers jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the first four innings.

Çolumbia City’s first run of the game came off a home run by Connor Slavich. Travis Herbst scored the final run of the season for the Eagles off a hit by Connor Reed.

Columbia City used Slavich, Austin Clark and Jordan Bickle at the mound.

Carroll won 9-1 over East Noble in Monday morning’s semi-final game.

Columbia City finishes the season with a 14-13 record.
