COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s young basketball team is continuing to gain experience and improve in the early part of the season.
After beating county-rival Whitko in the season-opener Wednesday, the Eagles dropped a low-scoring, 46-35 game to Warsaw in their home opener Saturday night.
While the score writes its own story about the defensive efforts of both teams, the 11-point margin is slightly misleading.
Warsaw’s highest lead in the second quarter was seven points, a lead that was narrowed 20 seconds later after a 3-pointer by Ryan Mosher at the end of the half. The Tigers didn’t see a lead that large until the end of the game, when the Eagles were forced to foul.
