Eagles host Barons for homecoming

September 19, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — It is homecoming week, and Columbia City’s football team will try to put a difficult loss in the past.

The Eagles fell to Homestead last week, 20-7, in a game with a couple of missed opportunities.

To shake that disappointment off, Columbia City welcomes DeKalb for homecoming in a game with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

The Eagles are 2-2 entering the game and 1-1 in the Northeast Hoosier Conference. DeKalb is winless.

Last year, Columbia City rolled up a 62-10 victory against the Barons. DeKalb’s last win over the Eagles was a 27-13 triumph in 2008.

Columbia City has had great success on the ground this year. Braden Myer ran for 114 yards against Homestead and had 137 in the conference-opening win against Bellmont.
