COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s boys basketball team is looking to rebound from its heart-breaking loss to Homestead Friday by hosting Huntington North Tuesday.
The Eagles fell to the Spartans by one point after a last-second 3-pointer at the buzzer for their first Northeast Hoosier Conference loss, and second defeat of the season.
The Vikings have a deceiving 7-6 record, as they play a particularly strong schedule.
Huntington lost to Homestead 48-42 in the opening game of the season, and has also suffered losses to Carroll (Columbia City beat Carroll by two points in the holiday tourney), Munster (61-56), New Haven and Anderson.
The Eagles also lost to Munster, 66-54, in the holiday tournament.
Columbia City hasn’t lost to the Vikings since 2008.
The Eagles return to NHC action Saturday, hosting DeKalb. Tip-off is 7:45 at Columbia City High School.
