Eagles look for homecoming win

September 12, 2013

CHURUBUSCO — It is homecoming week for Smith-Green Community Schools, and the Churubusco football team hopes to keep its perfect record intact Friday.

Eastside will be visiting the Eagles in a game that kicks off at 7 p.m. The Blazers carry a 1-2 record into the contest.

The Eagles have a perfect 3-0 record and are also unbeaten in the NECC. For the season, ’Busco has only allowed six total points in three games.

Last week, the Eagles hit the road and beat Prairie Heights 34-0. Eastside lost last week to Angola, 28-14.

The lone win of the year so far for Eastside was its non-conference game against its county rival — Garrett. The Blazers beat the Railroaders 46 -22 in that contest.

In 2012, Churubusco beat Eastside by a final of 54-0.

The Blazers last beat ’Busco in 2006, when they won by a final score of 10-8.
