Eagles open NHC play against Braves

COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s football team will hope to start its conference slate the same way it did in 2012 — with a win against Bellmont.

To get the win in 2013 though, the Eagles have to travel to Decatur.
Both squads have opened this year 1-1. Columbia City fell to Warsaw to open the year and picked up its first win last week against Whitko by a 34-14 score.

Bellmont also earned its first victory of 2013 last week by beating a county rival, defeating South Adams 41-17.

The Braves lost to Woodlan in the first week of the 2013 season.

Columbia City has a three-year winning streak against Bellmont, including a 24-13 victory last season.

Overall, Eagle Head Football Coach Randy Hudgins is 3-1 against Bellmont.
