COLUMBIA CITY — Columbia City’s boys basketball team combined for 149 points in two games Thursday at its holiday shoot-out.
Columbia City’s gym hosted six games between six schools and the Eagles finished the day undefeated, beating Prairie Heights and East Noble.
The hosts beat Prairie Heights by 71 points, scoring 94 and holding the 2-7 Panthers to 23 points.
The Eagles had a 50-15 lead at halftime.
Drew Benedict and Drew Burnsworth combined for five 3-pointers in the first half, eight on the game and 16 on the day.
Burnsworth shot 8-for-12 from behind the arc and the pair was 9-for-9 in free throws.
“Drew (Burnsworth) is just a really good shooter,” Coach Benedict said. “When he gets an open shot he’s going to knock it down.”
