Edward Lee Peffer, 62, of Ligonier died at 6:30 p.m. Monday, June 6, 2011 at I.U. Health Goshen Hospital. He was born July 13, 1948 to Charles E. Peffer and Josephine M. Leighty.
He graduated from Avilla High School in 1966 and went on to serve in the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1970.
He is survived by special friend, Wanda Peffer; two daughters, Kimberly K. Teel and Jennifer L. Saggars, both of Ligonier; a sister, Charlene K. Hess of Fort Wayne, a brother, Gary W. Clouse of Avilla; two step-sisters, Nancy Wells of Wolcottville and Deanna Magnuson of Albion; a step brother, Rex Smolek of Iowa and four grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Josephine; stepmother, Marjorie Peffer; and stepfather, Harry A. Clouse.
A funeral service will be held Saturday at Yeager Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Celebrant Larry Baker officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sparta Cemetery in Kimmell. Memorial contributions are to American Legion Post 243 in Ligonier.
