ELECTRIC LIGHT PROJECT: County council gives OK

September 7, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Council approved $22,911 for an electric light project at Columbia City’s courthouse and annex building at its meeting Wednesday.
“It’s something we’re going to have to do soon,” said Mark Sturtevant with the courthouse’s maintenance department.
“The only advantage of trying to do it yet this year is to get the rebates.”
Sturtevant said if the council did not move the project forward now, it would have to take place the next year, and the rebates would no longer be offered.
“We’ll be forced to do it then,” said Sturtevant.
The council agreed to approve the electric light project on Rider Electric’s estimate.
