FORT WAYNE — Ellsworth “Bud” R. Jacobs, 87, passed away Monday, June 13, 2011 in Fort Wayne.
Born in Fort Wayne, he worked as a supervisor with Dana Corporation for 35 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of Dana Quarter Century Club and was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved the outdoors.
He enjoyed NASCAR and building race cars.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Jacobs of Fort Wayne; daughters, Judy (Leo) Herendeen of Fort Wayne, Janet S. (Gregg - deceased) ) Yager of Fort Wayne, Joan Scott of Milford; brother, William (Pat) Jacobs of Fort Wayne; sister Luella Bryant of Fort Wayne; sister-in-law, Betty Jacobs of Fort Wayne; grandchildren, Cory (Molly) Herendeen of Carmel, Jason Herendeen of Fort Wayne, Joel (Sarah) Herendeen of Indianapolis, Brian (Lizabeth) Yager of Fort Wayne, Brent Yager of Fort Wayne, Ryan Scott of Pierceton, Krisa (Mike) Pressler of Columbia City, and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Alma Jacobs, brothers, Harry, Greorge and Walter (Emily) Jacobs and sister Helen Baugher.
Service is 2 p.m. Thursday at D.O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Rd.
Visitation will be 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Entombment in Covington Memorial Gardens, Fort Wayne.
