Emery Franklin Rowland, 88, of Claypool, died at 9:35 p.m. Aug. 28, 2010 at Millers Merry Manor in Warsaw.
A lifetime resident of Claypool, he was born Oct. 14, 1921 to Merl and Anna (Shepherd) Rowland. He married Phyllis Hoover May 19, 1941 in Claypool.
He was a farmer, retiring in 2004 and his memberships included the Claypool United Methodist Church; Farm Bureau; and the Miami Valley Milk Producers, of which he was a board member.
He enjoyed visits from his children and especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dennis (Pam) Rowland and Roger (Sandy) Rowland, all of Claypool; a daughter, Avis (Carl â€śHubâ€ť) Wilkinson of Goshen; a brother, Duane (Mary Louise) Rowland of South Whitley; two sisters, Evelyn Clark of Springfield, Ohio and Patricia Baker of Akron, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Missy (Vince) Wynn of Elkhart, Tina (Scott) Mauer of Goshen, Greg (Kassi) Rowland of Warsaw, Travis Rowland of Claypool, Amy (Jason) Slone of Silver Lake, Brian Wilkinson of Syracuse and Darren (Karena) Wilkinson of Syracuse; and 17 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Arlene Juday, Colleen Bouse and Marjorie Rhoades.
Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Titus Funeral Home in Warsaw. The funeral service is at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with pastors Evelyn Taylor Haney and Duane Kline of the Claypool United Methodist Church officiating. Burial is at the Graceland Cemetery in Claypool.
