ENGULFED GARAGE: Firefighters arrive Wed. night

Post & Mail photo / Nicole Ott: Firefighters from four different Whitley County fire departments responded late Wednesday night to the fire at 856 E. CR 200 S. which engulfed the house’s garage. The fire took several hours to extinguish.


COLUMBIA CITY — A Whitley County home was destroyed in a fire late Wednesday night.
Columbia Township firemen were called to the residence at 856 E. CR 200 S. at approximately 11:45 p.m.
Firemen arrived to the scene to find the garage fully engulfed in flames.
Union Township, Washington Township, Jefferson Township and Columbia City firemen were called to assist with the blaze, which took several hours to put out.
Also on the scene was the Whitley County Fire Investigation Team.
According to fire scanner traffic, everyone inside the house got out of the residence with no injury.
