CHURUBSCO â€” Eric F. Bruot, 53, a resident of Churubusco, was received into the arms of his Lord at 9:25 p.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2012, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He had been in failing health for the past year.
Mr. Bruot was born Feb. 21, 1959, in Fort Wayne, a son of Roger and Delores (Frank) Bruot.
He spent his formative years there and graduated from Northrop High School in 1977.
On March 21, 1981, he was married in Fort Wayne to Debra Kay Sanderson. The couple lived in New Haven for a period before moving to Churubusco in 1988.
He was previously employed as a mold maker for 18 years, and for the past eight years had worked as a foreman at Superior Manufacturing in Fort Wayne.
A member of Columbia City United Methodist Church, he was an avid golfer and a Purdue Boilermakers fan.
He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and most especially loved and cherished his granddaughters and all of his family.
The surviving relatives include his wife Debra; his children, Erica (Emanuel) Cuenca of Garrett, Kevin (Jessica) Bruot of Indianapolis, and David Bruot of Fort Wayne; his mother, Delores (Richard) Newman of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Kim (Tom) Weaver of Fort Wayne and Beth (John) Tchinski of Mission Viejo, Calif.; and two granddaughters Jayda and Layla Cuenca. He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. David Arnold, pastor of Columbia City United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., or one hour prior to the service Wednesday morning.
Interment will be in the Eel River Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
