ETA: Phase III bids approved

September 21, 2012

COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Consolidated Board of School Trustees approved construction bids for Phase III Development of Eagle Tech Academy, with hopes the project will be finished by next year.
“The lowest bid on the project of the five bidders was $1,948,572, of Hamilton Hunter (Builders) out of Fort Wayne,” said school board member Anthony Zickgraf at Monday’s meeting. “Out of the five bids, they were all within about 2.5 percent of each other.”
The project will call for the renovation of over 36,000 square feet, including space at Indian Springs, and it is expected to be completed by July of 2013 in order to have it ready for the next school year.
In other business, the board approved the 2013 budget.
