Evelyn Combs, 78

Evelyn Juanita Combs, 78, a former resident of Garrett, died at 6:37 a.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Hospital in Fort Wayne.
She was born Nov. 22, 1933, in Harriman, Tenn., a daughter of Henry and Bertha (Cook) Hyde.
Three husbands preceded her in death Floyd Cottrell, Doler Bevis, and Wilburn Combs.
The surviving relatives include her children, Margaret Christlieb of Churubusco, Pat Rowe of Spencerville, Richard Cottrell of Auburn, Zelda Mayers of Woodburn, and Doler Otis “Dob” Bevis of Garrett; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three children, Bonnie Lou Cottrell, Mary Thomas, and Harold Cottrell; daughter-in-law Tammy Cottrell; two grandsons; five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Michael Harris, pastor of Waynedale United Methodist Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday after 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the family to assist with final expenses.
