COLUMBIA CITY — A year-long project came to completion just in time for the 2013 Whitley County 4-H Fair.
The Whitley County Farm Bureau donated $23,000 to Whitley County’s 4-H club to build a new platform at the grandstands — replacing the temporary trailer stage used in the past.
“We thought a more permanent fixture would be nice,” said Kevin Ousley, of the Whitley County Farm Bureau. “We sold our old building and wanted to do something for the community.”
Ousley said most of the farm bureau’s board consists of previous 4-H members and 4-H families.
