COLUMBIA CITY — Whitley County’s treasurer gave the county commissioners an update on finances at Tuesday’s meeting.
Whitley County Treasurer Laurell Hodges came before the commissioners as they convened their annual Finance Committee meeting. Hodges gave financial information to the board on the county’s investments. The commissioners reviewed the county’s financial records and then unanimously voted to continue the current investment policies but to give Hodges latitude to work with the finances.
In other business the commissioners received clarification on the contract between the county and Border Energy. The commissioners learned that there is no tolerance or limit in either direction for energy use.
Highway director Michael Barton also appeared before the commissioners. He said that the phones at his building need to be replaced. The commissioners approved sending a request for funds to replace the phones to the county council, which meets next month.
The next meeting for the Whitley County Commissioners will be on Monday, Feb. 4 at 1 p.m.
