Five things for donors to remember as Dec. 31 draw near each year

December 3, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — The end of the year will soon be upon us and before we know it a new year will dawn.

To help our Whitley County community finish up this year in charitable style, here are five gentle reminders from the Whitley County Community Foundation. Should you have any questions, please contact the Whitley County Community Foundation, 400 N. Whitley St., Columbia City, IN 46725. Phone number is 260 244-5224. Website is: www.whitleycountycommunity foundation.org.

1) Charitable giving benefits you, as well as the charity. A special, year-end gift during each “season of giving” can bring donors added pleasure, especially as they consider the boost their gift will give to the charity. Givers will enjoy knowing that their generosity has made a difference and will help the charity fulfill its worthy goals. And, of course, there are usually tax benefits related to charitable giving.
