Logan Irwin, Whitko High School’s all-time leading scorer, eyes the basket during an elementary school game in Warsaw in February, 2006. He is being guarded by Washington Elementary School’s Brock Anson. Irwin played his elementary school ball for Warsaw’s Lincoln Elementary and was teamed with Warsaw All-Conference standout Lucas Grose. The two won Warsaw Elementary School championships in 2005 and 2006 and also played together in seventh grade at Lakeview Middle School, winning a middle school conference title. Irwin moved to the Whitko system for his 8th-grade season in preparation for playing for his father, Coach Rob Irwin. Over the next week, The Post & Mail will feature its all-county boys and girls basketball teams as well as selecting both a boys and girls basketball Player of the Year. In the background are, left, veteran IHSAA official Eric Coburn and Lincoln Coach David Wayne.
