FLEEING ON FOOT: Suspect still on the loose

NOBLE COUNTY (Aug. 5, 2014) -- Law enforcement from Noble and Whitley counties along with state troopers are working together to capture a suspect who was seen near Big Lake, off Ind. 109.

Earlier in the afternoon, a man fled the scene of a domestic situation in Noble County. Noble County police were able to offer a description of the man and the license plate number to the vehicle he was seen leaving in.

A state trooper happened to be behind the automobile on a highway when he recognized the vehicle and dispatched for assistance. The trooper followed the man from Noble County into Whitley County. When the trooper stopped the car, near Big Lake, the driver tried to run the trooper over.

According to officials on the scene, the trooper began firing his weapon at the vehicle. At this time no injuries are reported.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5 foot 7 inches tall, 165 pounds wearing a green shirt, white hat and blue jeans.

Police from various departments, along with sheriffs, K9 and air patrol units are currently conducting the search near the county line between Noble and Whitley counties.
