CHURUBUSCO — As the postseason begins this week for high school football, Churubusco’s football team will try to put two straight losses behind it as sectional play starts Friday.
The Eagles lost by one point to Lakeland last week and to Fairfield two weeks ago. It was the first two-game losing streak for Churubusco in six years, as the Eagles lost to the same two schools in 2007.
’Busco’s football team might hope for a similar postseason. In 2007, the Eagles made it to the semi-state round.
To do the same in 2013, Churubusco must get past a Northeast Corner Conference rival, Eastside.
The Eagles beat the Blazers 31-13 Sept. 13. Since that time, Eastside has posted a 3-2 record. The Blazers ended the regular season with a three-game winning streak to finish at 4-5 overall, and 3-5 in the conference.
The sectional quarterfinal will kick off at 7 p.m. in Churubusco.
