Frederick G.C. Gaff, 64, of Churubusco, passed away at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his residence. Born Oct. 31, 1946 in Wolf Lake, he was a son of Paul Joseph and Joyce N. (Newman) Gaff.
A Churubusco High School graduate, he resided in Churubusco the majority of his lifetime. On March 25, 1972 he married Joan Marie Anspach in Fort Wayne. For 27 years he worked as a truck driver for Essex Wire and Cable retiring in 1999. After retirement, he worked for Super Value for two years. His memberships included Eagles Lodge 1906 and Teamsters Local 414. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his daughter, Amy (Jim) Bohnstedt of Columbia City; mother, Joyce Gaff of Columbia City; grandsons, Colton and Caden Bohnstedt of Columbia City; brothers, Jay L. Gaff of Winterhaven, Fla., Herbert N. (Sandra) Gaff of Churubusco and Charles Gaff of Fort Wayne; sister, Bonnie Ohnesorge of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his father, Paul J. Gaff; wife, Joan Marie Gaff Sept. 1, 2009; brother, Paul J. Gaff, Jr.; and stepfather, Jay Gaff.
Visitation is from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service is at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Smith of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Christian Chapel Cemetery, 4115 South U.S. 33, Merriam, IN.
