Frederick Schrader, 90

Frederick D. Schrader, 90, of Columbia City, passed away at 7 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
Born on July 9, 1921 in Columbia City he was the son of Raymond Earl and Francis Marie (Nei) Schrader.
He served in the US Army Air Force during World War II. He was married to Mary C. Combs on Sept. 5, 1964, by Pastor Marion Shroyer in Columbia City.
He was a farmer and was a foreman and planner for General Electric, Fort Wayne.
His memberships included the American Legion Post #98 and Eagles Lodge #1906 both of Columbia City.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary C. Schrader of Columbia City; two step sons, Kelly (Renee) Keller, Slinger, Wisc. and Randy (Joyce) Keller, Dateland, Ariz.; four stepgrandchildren and nine stepgreat-grandchildren and one sister, Willodean Lyons of Huntington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Walter L. Schrader and one sister, Deloris L. Nichols.
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Nolt Cemetery. Randy Grimes, Certified Funeral Celebrant officiated.
The Korean War Honor Guard presented graveside military services.
Funeral arrangements were entrusted to DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Schrader’s memory to Whitley County Humane Society or the Whitley County Community Foundation.
