Fredrick Harroff, 72

Fredrick J. Harroff, 72, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16, 2012, at his home.
Born Sept. 16, 1939, in Churubusco, he was the son of Herbert Theodore and Bethel Marie (Pennington) Harroff.
A Whitley County resident most of his lifetime, he attended several high schools and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.
On Dec. 17, 1963, he married Sherry Lindell Williams in Albion, Noble County.
He worked as a warehouseman for 30 years at Food Marketing, Fort Wayne.
He was a member of the Churubusco American Legion Post #157.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry L. Harroff of Columbia City; two daughters, Kim (Gary) Gorsuch of Albion and Roberta (Dean) Wort of Hicksville, Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary (David) Gator of North Carolina, Liz Hatcher of Fort Wayne and Rilla (Stanley) Walter of Columbia City and one brother, John Harroff of Fort Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Deana Wagner, grandchildren, Matthew and Anthony Wagner, three brothers and one sister.
To honor Mr. Harroff’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Harroff’s memory to Heartland Hospice, 1315 Directors Row, Ste. 210, Fort Wayne, IN 46808. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
