Free clinic set for relocation

May 27, 2013

COLUMBIA CITY — After moving from its original location in Wolf Lake at Luckey Hospital to the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church, the Free Health Clinic is set to relocate again.

The clinic will be moving in June to an office at 524 Branch Ct., Columbia City, across from Ace Hardware. It will be open Thursday, June 27 with hours of operation from 1 to 7 p.m. on the second and fourth Thursday of each month.

The clinic was started in 2007 by Dr. Tom Hayhurst, Kay Luce, Reverend Wray McCalester and Pat Rauh, L.P.N., along with many volunteers, to provide medical services to the uninsured population of local counties.

Each clinic day will be staffed by both a doctor and a nurse.

There will be no charge to the patient. Any uninsured person will be seen who does not have insurance such as private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid or VA benefits.
