Morgan May, Zachary Rhea, and Rebecca Boyd, from Mr. Engelberth’s fourth grade class, are practicing their math facts using XtraMath.org.

Many teachers at Northern Heights Elementary School have been using XtraMath.org to assist in teaching students their math facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) at a quick rate of speed.

The goal of the program is to have all students master each math fact by showing they can answer the question in three seconds or less.

Once a student masters a content area, for example, addition, they are then moved on into subtraction and through the different areas.

For younger students, XtraMath.org has a setting to allow for the student to answer and master the questions in 6 seconds or less.

XtraMath.org is a free program accessible by both teachers and parents that gives a great ability to monitor student growth in the area of math facts.
