Garnett Bernelia Fabian, 87, passed to be with the Lord, Tuesday Nov. 12, 2013, at Parkview Oaks, Columbia City.
She resided most of her life in South Bend. She was born in Barbour County, W. Va., April 13, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Andrew H. Mayle and Lucille (Norris) Mayle.
Garnett was married to George B. Bojtor from 1947 until his death in 1992 and to Harold Sigmund Fabian from 2001 until his death in 2011.
Garnett enjoyed being with family and friends, music, dancing, and had a wonderful smile and sense of humor.
Garnett is survived by one daughter, Carolyn (Robert â€śHootâ€ť) Gibson of Columbia City; granddaughter, Gina (Marty) Cafolla; three great-grandsons, Nicholas, Alexander James, and Jacob Cafolla; sister, Maxine Sega of Northfield, Ohio; special friend, Charles Stanley; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hojnacki; special nieces, Deborah Kuskye, Rosemary (Robert) Densmore, Sue Ann (Robert) Nolan, Sharon (Bruce) Fleck, Patricia (Joe) Magovic, and Diana (Sherman) Jones; special nephews, Michael Bojtor and Steve (Diane) Horvath; and many treasured nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, (Donald, Ronald, Robert, Andrew Junior, and Charles Mayle); and four sisters, Pauline Mayle, Janet Manzer, Audrey Matheny, and Ruby Rodger.
Burial will take place at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
Memorial donations may be made to Riley Childrenâ€™s Hospital, Indianapolis.
