Gladys Juanita Gerding, 71, of Larwill, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014, at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Columbia City.
She was born Sept. 23, 1942, in Summerset, Ky. and was the daughter of Goldie and Louella (Parsons) Bell.
She grew up in Union City and was married Nov. 12, 1972, in Marion, Ky. to Donald Gerding.
She was employed as an assembler for Maple Leaf Farms for 13 years. She enjoyed knitting blankets.
Surviving relatives include her children, John Gerding of Larwill, Richard (Dianna) Hobbs of Larwill, Lawrence Hale of Indianapolis and David Hale of Florida; 13 grandchildren, four sisters and brothers, Reva (Danny) Miller of Kalamazoo, Mich., Bud Bell of Union City, Checo Bell of Palistine Lake and Ruby (Denny) Sanders of North Webster.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Gerding; parents; two brothers; three sisters and one granddaughter, Olivia Holbrook.
Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. There will be no funeral service.
