Gladys Loretta Reimer, 85, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:49 a.m. Sunday, March 18, 2012 at Oak Pointe, Columbia City.
Born May 16, 1926, in Fort Wayne, she was the daughter of Harry and Nora Luella (Nelson) Johnson.
Raised in Fort Wayne, she attended Central High School.
She moved to Columbia City following her marriage in 1943 to John Stidham. After Mr. Stidhamâ€™s death, she moved to South Whitley in 1966 and later bought a home in Columbia City.
She retired as an assembler at General Electric Co., Fort Wayne. She was a member of the Eberhard Lutheran Church, the Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5582 and the Auxiliary of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Survivors include her son, Thomas L. Stidham of Alabama; two granddaughters, Shelley Clark of Columbia City and Melissa Lee Gaerte; sister, Minnie Houston of North Carolina; three great-grandchildren, Cory and Kara Clark and Michael Ewald.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, John Stidham, daughter, Sandra Stidham and brother, Jerry Johnson.
Visitation is Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
The funeral service is Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Park Original Cemetery, Columbia City.
Memorials may be given in Mrs. Reimerâ€™s memory to the donorâ€™s choice of charity. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
