Gloria Ruckman, 77

Gloria A. Ruckman, 77, of Churubusco, passed away at 6 p.m. Dec. 30, 2010 at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born Oct. 29, 1933 in Huntington County, she was a daughter of Ernest and Helen (Allen) Routt.
She has been a resident of Whitley County, since 1951. She attended Arcola High School. On Dec. 25, 1951, she married Duane E. Ruckman. While Mrs. Ruckman worked for nine years at Dana Churubusco, she spent most of her working years raising her four children and 10 grandchildren. She was an active member of the Jehovah’s Witnesses Congregation of Columbia City.
Survivors include her husband, Duane E. Ruckman of Churubusco; four children, Penny L. (Marvin) Olson of Elkhart, David D. (Teresa Brown) Ruckman of Churubusco, Bryan R. (Gwynne) Ruckman and Rachel A. Mix, both of Columbia City; former daughter-in-law, Teri Ruckman; 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Everett “Bud” Routt; and 3 sisters, Helen Vaughn, Ernestine Keller and Margaret Routt.
Visitation with the family is from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow the visitation hours at 3 p.m. with Marvin Olson officiating.
