COLUMBIA CITY — Six months after Columbia City’s Common Council approved changes to the downtown area’s parking, the council reviewed the outcome of the adjustments at Tuesday’s meeting.
“I’ve only heard good responses,” Councilman Dan Weigold said. “I haven’t heard anyone complain about parking.”
The city opened up its lot on North Chauncey Street to the public, allowing for more parking downtown. The lot, which added 30 more parking spaces, is located south of the U.S. Post Office, between Van Buren and Jackson Streets.
“Our ordinance officer keeps a handle on how many cars are using that lot throughout the day,” Columbia City Police Chief Tim Longenbaugh said.
