Green medals; Eagles take fourth

May 13, 2013

LEO-CEDARVILLE — After Saturday’s invitational, Columbia City freshman Tyler Green is the Eagles’ third linkster to join the medalist list at the Leo Invite.

Green joins Mike Schumaker (1997-99) and Tyler Gay (2003-04) by taking top honors in the 16-year-old event.

Green’s 73 was the top score at Cedar Creek — a par 71 course — and the Eagles came in fourth as a team.

He scored a 36 on the front nine and a 37 on the back half — all with 54-degree, damp and windy conditions. Fellow freshman Spencer Klimek also had a stand-out performance, placing fourth individually with a score of 75.
