WHITLEY COUNTY â€” â€śThat smell is something you never forget.â€ť
Tom Strack, 64, made a gruesome discovery Wednesday night after he caught wind of an all-too-familiar odor from his past.
Strack, who served his country in Vietnam more than 40 years ago, picked up on the smell of a dead body in his woods Wednesday night.
â€śIt is its own odor,â€ť Strack said. â€śI recognized it right away.â€ť
Strack, who lives on County Road 800 East north of Old Trail Road, was walking home from his momâ€™s house on Johnson Road through the trails in his woods.
â€śI looked around and found a body laying off to the side of the trail,â€ť Strack said.
