Harold E. Snyder, 84, of Dayton, Ohio, died Sunday, July 3, 2011 at the VA Medical Center in Dayton.
He was born June 22, 1927 to Otis D.E. and Rosa I. (Ebersole) Snyder in Columbia City.
He graduated from Larwill High School with the Class of 1945.
He joined the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean Conflict from 1945-1947.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Bandelier of Columbia City; sons, Carl Snyder of Nappanee and John Snyder of Antwerp, Ohio; daughter, Brenda McCormick of Bourbon; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation is Saturday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
A memorial service will follow visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Jamie Stiffler of Warsaw Missionary Church officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at South Park Cemetery, Columbia City. Memorials can be made to the donor’s choice of charity.
