Hazel Hartley, 96

Hazel L. Hartley, 96, of Columbia City, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2011 at Sycamore Village, Fort Wayne. Born May 28, 1914 in Mercer County, Pa., she was a daughter of Charles and Emma (Miller) Musselman.
She lived in Allen and Noble counties until moving to Florida and then returned to Whitley County. She married Ralph “Jack” Hartley. She worked for Fort Wayne Community Schools at Lakeside School as a cook.
Survivors include her daughters, Josephine Hyndman of Columbia City and Jackie Jaminson of Monticello, Ill.; sisters, Margaret Kimmell of Kendallville, Maxine Smart of Sebring, Fla. and Rosie Lietch of Fostoria, Ohio; brother, Clarence Musselman of Concord, Calif.; and six grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph “Jack” Hartley; daughters, Shirley Ott Wise and Mary Jane Nesbitt; two grandchildren; one great-grandson and two brothers, Everett and Donald Musselman.
Visitation is from 1 to 3 p.m. today at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with Sharon Brockhaus, Certified Funeral Celebrant officiating. Burial will be at Jefferson Chapel (Sand Bank) Cemetery.
