Hazel Kotrba, 80

Hazel Eloise Kemery Kotrba, 80, passed away Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at the Golden Living Center, Lansing, Kan.
Mrs. Kotrba was born Aug. 26, 1931, in Columbia City to parents Chauncey and Susie Kemery.
She traveled extensively in the United States and later resided in West Germany. She moved to Leavenworth, Kan., where she lived with her daughter’s family since December, 1983.
Mrs. Kotrba worked and volunteered at various places and church organizations. She is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Leavenworth, Kan.
She loved puzzles, rug making, board and card games, reading, walking, visiting neighbors, watching granddaughters’ tennis and volleyball games, and taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Kotrba fought cancer for 10 years.
She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Foster; son-in-law, Richard Foster; granddaughter, Holly (Toby) Cott; great-granddaughter, Daisy Cott; granddaughter, Casey (Caleob) King; great-grandsons, Noah King and Gideon King; sister Andaline Kemery Christ (Donald) Brown; sister in-law, Ruth Merritt Kemery; and numerous family members residing in Indiana.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2101 10th Ave., Leavenworth, Kan.
Memorial funds may be sent to the American Cancer Society. Thanks to caregivers at Golden Living Center and the Ascera Care hospice caregivers.
Cremation will be done at the Cremation Center of Kansas City, 4926 Johnson Drive, Shawnee Mission, Kansas 66205, phone (913-384-5566).
