SOUTH WHITLEY — It took a few ideas, some brainstorming and a community pulling together to plan South Whitley’s Home for the Holidays event.

The downtown Christmas celebration will take place Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m., and will feature ornament making, cookie decorating, food, a live Nativity, music and a ceremonially tree lighting.

One particular event will have a winning announcement made at 6 p.m. — the town’s wreath contest.
