Howard E. Harnish, 58, passed away Thursday, March 31, 2011 at Lutheran Hospital. He was born July 13, 1952 in Fort Wayne to the late Kenneth and Martha (Gerard) Harnish.
He worked as a machinist for numerous companies and then later took over the operations of K & M Upholstery in Roanoke. He was a member of Columbia City Church of Christ, the N.R.A. and was a ham radio operator. Mr. Harnish enjoyed racing, tractor pulls and was a true outdoorsman.
Surviving are his wife, Treva (Mason) Harnish of South Whitley; stepchildren, Tad (Janine) Brockus of Wisconsin, Trenton (Malissa) Brockus of Washington and Tobias (Ashley) Brockus of Marion; sisters, Elaine (Rodney) Johnson of Markle, Barbara (John) Mertz of Louisville, Ginger Harnish of Roanoke and Donna Lilly of Florida; seven grandchildren, four nieces, and eight great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Brenda Harnish.
Memorial service is at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 9 at Columbia City Church of Christ, 270 Frontage Road, Columbia City, with calling from 9:30 a.m. until time of service. Burial will be in Leo Cemetery.
