SOUTH WHITLEY Ââ€” Without scoring a single field goal in the fourth quarter, senior Logan Irwin and junior Alex Stoddard combined for 46 points in Whitkoâ€™s 72-52 win over Wabash Friday.
Stoddard scored 10 of the Wildcatsâ€™ 21 first quarter points, while Wabash only tallied 11.
Whitkoâ€™s defense held the Apaches to 11 points again in the second period while Stoddard and Irwin combined for 14 of the â€™Cats 18.
The Wildcats built on their 39-22 halftime lead in the third quarter with nine points from Irwin, four from Stoddard and four from Gabe Powell.
Whitko had contributions from six different players in the fourth quarter to finish the game at 72-52.
Logan Irwinâ€™s brother Keaton and Trey Weber scored the teamâ€™s only 3-pointers with one apiece. They finished with four and five points, respectively.
Logan Irwin led the team with 24 points followed by Stoddard with 22.
Along with Weber, Colin Nicodemus had five points.
Jordan Sims and Gabe Powell tallied four apiece.
The Wildcats are back in action Tuesday when they host Carroll.View more articles in:
