COLUMBIA CITY â Indian Springs Middle Schoolâs seventh-grade Lady Eagle volleyball squad is preparing for the remainder of its season.
The Lady Eagles grabbed their first win Sept. 12 against East Noble, but fell to county-rival Whitko Monday night.
Against Whitko, ISMS Coach Melissa Alexander said the team was caught off-guard in the beginning.
âWe were asleep on the court for the first game,â Alexander said.
The Lady Eagles fell 25-13 in game one. In game two, ISMS rallied from a 7-1 deficit to nearly tie the score, but fell 25-19 in the end.
âWe were trying something new last night that we hadnât gone over in practice,â Alexander said. âI think that threw us off a little bit.â
Despite the loss, Alexander touted the positive efforst of the team.
âOur setting was great by Grace Cotter and Grace Mills,â Alexander said. âWe had some nice hits at the net by Cotter, Brooke Ebersole and Abby Jones.â
Alexander said the top servers were Cotter, Mills and Haley Willson.
Against East Noble, the Lady Eagles grabbed their first win.
