ISMS wins three in a row

KENDALLVILLE — Indian Springs Middle School’s 8th-grade Lady Eagles (12-2) traveled to East Noble Monday night and won a hard-fought battle by the score of 50-45.

Three players scored in double figures for the Lady Eagles, with Holly Martinez leading the charge with 15 points. Miranda McConnell had 11 points and Darian Farber added 10, with six points coming in the final quarter. Chelsea Pettigrew contributed eight points inside and Morgan Bales had four — including two key free throws in the fourth quarter.

ISMS coach Trish Sittler said Kate Frei also had an important bucket late in the game.

The Lady Eagles hosted a tournament Saturday, posting two victories.
ISMS beat Manchester, 46-20, and Tippecanoe Valley, 31-21.

In the first game against Manchester, Pettigrew led all scorers with 20 points while McConnell poured in 18. Martinez had four points, and Farber and Brittney Kinney added two points apiece.

Against a solid Tippy Valley team, the Eagles again had five ladies score. Farber scored 10 points, with both Martinez and McConnell adding eight points apiece. Pettigrew contributed four points and Bales added a free throw.
