James Borcherding, 88

James A. Borcherding, 88, died Saturday Aug. 31, 2013.
James was born Jan. 13, 1925, in Fort Wayne, to the late James F. and Marie Borcherding.
He worked at the Veterans Affair Hospital for 25 years in the maintenance and engineering. He was an Army veteran of World War II serving in the 775th Field Artillery and was a member of the Oak Grove Church.
Surviving are his children, John (Pat) and Kenneth (Diane) Borcherding, Faye (Jon Huber) Borcherding, Tina (David) Winterroth; sisters, Dorothy Baumgardner, Patricia Ballinger, Sharon Fawley, Donna Hughes, Marilyn Mungovan; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma M. Borcherding in 2008.
The service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Covington Memorial Funeral Home, 8408 Covington Rd., with calling one hour prior to service.
There is also calling Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Covington Memorial Gardens.
