Born in Larwill, Sept. 6, 1931, Janet Martin Gustafson went home to be with the Lord March 2, 2013.
Her loved ones that preceded her in death include her father, Therman Martin; her mother, Edna Yoqulet Martin and her son, Jay Calvin Gustafson.
Janet is survived by her husband, Clyde; her children, Lee (Martha), Penny (John) Gallagher and Eric (Maria); her sisters, Violet Martin and Joan Ulrich; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was a faithful wife to Clyde for more than 63 years. She was a loving mother and raised four children, Jay, Lee, Penny and Eric. She continued to provide for her children, grandchildren and great-grand-children with love and material support. She loved board and card games and taught three generations of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play and enjoy these games.
She worked for the U.S. Postal Service, ran the popular Gusâ€™ Dairy Bar and held several other jobs to help support her family.
She was an active member and supporter of her church. She supported several nonprofit organizations that assist people including, March of Dimes, Crippled Children Foundation, YMCA Swim Club of Huntington, Literacy Program and Lip Reading.
She loved to play cards, work crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, Scrabble and Sudoku. She and Clyde were also active campers
She lived her life to the fullest, gave her love unconditionally and laughed at the humorous things of life. She worked diligently at whatever she attempted to do and saw tasks through to completion.
Her family and friends are diminished by her passing and her memory is a sacred trust.
A memorial service will be held Sept. 6, 2013, at the Upland Community Church in Upland.
