Joyce N. Gaff, 90, of Columbia City, passed away at 9:46 p.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, at Parkview Whitley Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1922, in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, she was the daughter of Nathaniel C. and Lillian A. (George) Newman.
She lived in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and then moved to Churubusco in 1944, and then to Florida in 1987.
In May 2006, she moved to her present home in Columbia City. She graduated from Patterson Collegiate Institute with a Senior Matriculation in Windsor in 1941.
Her first marriage was to Paul J. Gaff, Sr. on March 21, 1942 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Windsor and on Oct. 7, 1984, she married Jay L. Gaff. She retired in 1982, from Dana in Churubusco. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Fort Meade, Fla.
Surviving relatives include her sons, Jay â€śVerneâ€ť L. Gaff of Mulberry, Fla. and Herbert N. (Sandy) Gaff of Fort Wayne; ste pson, Herbert (Neva) L. Gaff both of Albion; sisters, Viola Gignac and Natalie Russell both of Windsor, Ontario; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Paul; second husband, Jay; sons, Paul Jr. and Fred; stepson, Carl; sister, Lillian Sinclair; and a great-granddaughter, Angel Gaff.
Visitation is 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home with burial to follow at Merriam Christian Chapel.
