Kathryn Margreat Pequignot, 93, of rural Fort Wayne, died at 10:55 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010 at Renaissance Village where she had been a resident since 2004.
She was born Feb. 9, 1917 in Berne, a daughter of Peter and Della (Kuehm) Miller. Her formative years were spent in Aboite Township, Allen County where she completed her education.
On April 24, 1937 she was united in marriage to Lenord H. Pequignot. They made their home in Coesse, Dunfee and later rural Fort Wayne. Mr. Pequignot preceded her in death on April 2, 2003.
She was employed at Fort Wayne Tailoring Company and Bennetts in New Haven.
Her memberships included Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church.
Surviving relatives include a son, Dennis H. Pequignot of Fort Wayne; a daughter, Sharon S. (Don) Wilkins of Roanoke; three grandchildren, Ryan J. Pequignot, Dane Wilkins and Sarah Wilkins Kieffer; a great grandson; a brother, Walter Miller of Fort Wayne; and four sisters, Luella Esterline of Columbia City, Hilda Roller of Fort Wayne, Irene Huey of Fort Wayne and Pauline Neddo of Indianapolis.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Almeda Thomkinson and Florence Miller.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Jefferson Chapel United Methodist Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. The burial will be in Jefferson Chapel Cemetery. The visitation will also be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City.
