Keith Arispa Rupert, age 93, of Columbia City, passed away at 3:47 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011 at Miller’s Merry Manor, Columbia City.
Born on Dec. 31, 1917 in Huntington County, he was the son of Daniel D. and Mary E. (Weigold) Rupert.
He was a lifelong resident of Whitley County, living over 50 years on Hanna Street and attended Columbia City High School.
On August 2, 1948 he married Chloris L. Rivet in Warsaw.
He drove a delivery truck for Montgomery Wards and Ball Fur-niture as well as many short runs to Indianapolis with American Transport , Foster and Son Trucking and also with Hoosier Truck Line. He has been a truck driver all of his life, retiring from truck driving in 1975.
He was a member of the Columbia City Eagles Lodge #1906.
Survivors include his daughter, Vivian Hicks, of Colorado; son, Danny R. (Karen) Rupert, of Albion; two granddaughters; two grandsons; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents and wife, Chloris L. Rupert.
Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 14, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011 at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City, where funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pastor Curtiss Johnson will be officiating. Burial will follow at Nolt Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be given in Mr. Rupert’s memory to the American Heart Association. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
