Kelly Walda, 54

Kelly Dale Walda, 54, of Columbia City, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, in the state of Washington.
Mr. Walda was born in Fort Wayne on March 6, 1958, to Dale Eugene Walda and Delores Maxine (Burtt) Walda.
His dad preceded him in death on April 2, 1999.
He graduated from Norwell High School in 1976, and served his country in the U.S. Army in the 101st Airborn. He married Beverly Ann Sykes on Sept. 2, 1995.
Mr. Walda was an over-the-road truck driver for 25 years. When he was home from the being on the road, the most important thing to him was spending time with his wife and family. He also loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcyle.
Survivors relatives include his wife, Beverly (Sykes) Walda of Columbia City, daughter, Tiffany Burton of Columbia City, son, William (Kim) Burton of Kendallville, daughter, Lynetta Holloway and her children of Mt. Vernon, Ill.; three grandchildren, Jade and Sydney Slone of Columbia City and Elizabella Burton of Kendallville; his mother, Maxine Walda of New Haven; sisters, Tina (Don) Hampshire of New Haven and Vicki (Everett) Bahrke of Indianapolis; brothers, Rick Walda of Fort Wayne, Dan Walda of Ossian and Brian (Carla) Walda.
Visitation will be Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. at New Hope Wesleyan Church, 971 N. 400 West, Columbia City with funeral services at 2 p.m. Burial with military honors will be at Covington Memorial Gardens in Fort Wayne. Preferred memorials may be made out to Beverly Walda.
