KING: Set for pre-trial conference Sept. 11

COLUMBIA CITY — Ron King, a 74-year-old South Whitley resident and Cleveland Township Trustee appeared in Superior Court Monday for an initial hearing on charges of official misconduct and battery.
King was arrested Aug. 6 after a complaint was made to the South Whitley Police Department alleging he inappropriately touched three women who were requesting financial assistance, according to a press release from the ISP.
King’s office near South Whitley, is located at his residence at 4360 S. Whitley Rd., and the misconduct allegedly occurred on May 8 and between June 10 and 11.
After the arrest, King bonded out of jail on a $40,500 bond, and he is charged with three felony counts of official misconduct, class D felonies, and three counts of battery, Class B misdemeanors.
King, along with his attorney Frank Gray, are scheduled to appear back in Superior Court for a pre-trial conference on Sept. 11 at 1:30 p.m.
