Kurt Rigsby, 18

Kurt Matthew Rigsby, Jr., 18, of South Whitley, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at St. Vincent’s Hospital, Indianapolis. Born Feb. 1, 1993 in Fort Wayne, he was a son of Amanda Marie (Fett) and Kurt M. Rigsby, Sr.
As a young boy he lived in Fort Wayne until age seven when his family moved to South Whitley. A January graduate with the Class of 2011 from Whitko High School, he moved to Noblesville in February 2011. Before moving to Noblesville, he worked at Carol’s Corner, South Whitley, and he currently worked for Wendy’s, Inc. His memberships included Community Bible Church and SADD at Whitko High School.
Survivors include his mother, Amanda M. (Luis Lopez) Rigsby of South Whitley; father, Kurt M. (Timothy Barr) Rigsby, Sr. of Astoria, N.Y.; sister, Adrianna Lopez of South Whitley; brother, Nathaneal Lopez of South Whitley; great-grandmother, Evelyn Andorfer of Columbia City; great-grandparents, Martha and Ned Longardner of Churubusco; partner, Keola Hanohano of Noblesville.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Neal D. and Karen A. Fett, and Sharon K. Rigsby.
Visitation is from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service is at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor John Cummings of Community Bible Church officiating. Burial of ashes will be at a later date.
